HowL – Love U [English Version]

*From “Boys Over Flowers” drama OST 2

Lyrics by: Lisa Tang
2009-04-14

Oooh… Ohhh… Ohhh…

VERSE 1:
It’s strange how we can get along so well
You must have been my other half
At times, I’d think what if I had not let go    Oh oh…
But deep within my heart
I just want you to let me stay here by your side
I’d be so thankful if I could just see you smile
Love U
You’re so precious to me
Just once…
I want to shout to the world

CHORUS:
I love you like the sun that shines brightly in the sky
I love you like the moon that sparkles each and every night
Even if just as a friend
Yet I don’t need anything more
Ohhh…

I love you and I promise you I will never change
I love you and I promise you I will watch over you
Can’t help but to treasure you
Love U Love U Love U
For always

VERSE 2:

You know that you can always run to me
When things just seem to get too tough
I know you love someone else, what can I do?     Oh oh…
It’s too late to regret
If you let me, I just want to be close to you
Without you, I don’t know how to live anymore
Love U
Having you is enough
Just once…
I want to shout to the world

Repeat Chorus minus last line

Only U

(NOTE: I decided to make this song as another confession of love from Jihoo to Jandi <3)

Hi Kelly, I found the lyrics in Korean for you. ^^

    —————————————————————————

    Original Lyrics:
CREDITS: Boys Over Flowers Singapore @ Blogspot

    HowL – Love U

    자꾸 익숙한 향기 나네요
    그댈 스쳤던 바람이
    지금 내 곁을 지나가나봐요
    나의 가슴속에
    그대만을 비추는 살인가봐요
    아픈 상처까지 감싸주는걸요
    Love U

    Love U Love U Love U

    Love U

    Love U Love U Love U 그대여

hi pawww, i’m not sure if you understood what i said. there is no “real” english version of this song. i wrote this and it has nothing to do with HowL. so, it will not be released. i don’t think artists in korea usually have english versions of their songs unless they’re targeting a wider audience by releasing their albums in various countries and decide to release english versions of some of their korean songs, like shinhwa, bi, wonder girls (soon), etc.

hi but is that the real english translation of the song?? coz it fits up the syllabication..i mean the words ”Saranghae geudae du nun chaeul su itdamyeon” is it ”I love you like the sun that shines brightly in the sky” or somewhat close to that? thanks

    Reply
  • 13. wackycashew  |  June 5, 2009 at 6:42 pm

hi albert. it’s not the translation. when i write english versions of songs, it doesn’t necessarily mirror the original lyrics. it fits the syllables cuz i try my best to make the english words match with the music. ^^ i don’t usually read the translations before i write the english versions. but at times, since i understand some words, i might try to make things match if it works. heehee~ =D

    this is the translation:

i keep smelling the fragrance of promise
i guess the wind that swept by you is passing by my side right now
maybe it’s a sunshine in my heart that shines on only you
it even embraces the painful scars

    love you
bringing you up, i close my eyes tight once again
i love you. if i can fill up both your eyes
i love you. if i show you my laughter
i’d take everything under the starlight and give them to you
i love you. if i can convey this heart to you
i love you. if you teach that heart
i’ll become like it in every way
love you, love you, love you, forever

i’m walking, following you, hiding behind the moonlight
what do i do if you don’t notice
should i make another request to the clouds to rain again
so i can hold your wet heart

    love you
bringing you up, i close my eyes tight once again
i love you. if i can fill up both your eyes
i love you. if i show you my laughter
i’d take everything under the starlight and give them to you
i love you. if i can convey this heart to you
i love you. if you teach that heart
i’ll become like it in every way
love you, love you, love you, you

nayabank: What I posted here directly above in the comment is the translation done by crazykyootie@soompi.

What I posted at the top in my original post is NOT the translation but English lyrics I wrote to the song.

Hope that clears things up. ^^

hi riskha, i think in general there are lots of great osts for dramas and movies. ^^ sometimes i would listen to the whole ost or just grab a few songs depending on the artist. =) i don’t watch a lot of dramas/movies, so i don’t know the latest. some older ones and some newer ones i enjoyed are:
    Beethoven Virus
    East of Eden (Part 1 & 2)
    Innocent Steps
    Let’s Go To The Beach
    Over The Rainbow (Part 1 & 2)
    Sad Sonata (there are 3)
    Smile Again
    Summer Scent
    Super Rookie
    The Invisible Man

    gee, thanks alot!
i only know summer scent n sad sonata =p
one of the reason why i like watching korean drama is because of their fashion style, cute…
    simple, polite but fashionable..
most girl on the dramas have a pair of chubby cheek, it seems that its very cold on winter time… and their cheek will redden
oya, do you know where can i get the original video songs of BBF ost? i dont want to see the dramas songs video but i only get the drama’s version on youtube,
well, i just wanna know the singer of the songs and their videos…

you’re most welcome! =D heehee… yes, lots of great dramas. i’ve only seen a few, but i’ve enjoyed them.

ummm… i don’t think the artists actually released any personal music videos. since it’s for a drama OST, they usually just use scenes from the drama for the vids because the songs are specifically made for the drama (not a song first released by the artist that they later decided to use for the drama). ^^ hope you get what i mean. if you want to know the singer, just look up the tracklist for the OST. =)

i posted a link for you already for translations to the OST. check the because i’m stupid or starlight tears post for my reply comment to you and another person. ^^ i don’t translate. i’m not korean and don’t know the language well.

heheheheee, i get what you mean. well, since my english is poor, i have difficulties to explain what i want to say.
    so you are not korean???
i’m sorry i didnt read clearly before, i thought that you are korean and it is the english translation of the song,,,
coz at first, i searched for the translation before i came up to this page =)
so you just write your own lyrics and match it to the song?
    hahahahahaa thats great,,
    its like making a poem
and your lyric is great, we really have to get into the drama to get its character’s feeling.
i like korean dramas, but i dont really pay detail or special attention to it. i start to like it because of the clothes, at first.
i love listening music, but didnt really like korean or japanese or chinese songs,,
unfortunately it is unavoidable not to notice the ost when u watch the film/drama, moreover if you like that drama..

No, I’m not Korean and I don’t know the language well. So, I can’t translate. =P

Yes, I write English lyrics to the songs. Yeah, it’s kind of like writing poetry, which I also enjoy doing.

Thanks! I actually read the manga before I watched the drama. So, some lyrics for the OST I wrote before I saw the drama and some I wrote during or after. ^^ I tried to write from the different characters’ point of view. Heehee~

I see, I see. I listen to mostly Korean these days. I’m Chinese, so I listen to Chinese songs as well, but haven’t really kept up-to-date these days. I kind of grew out of the English music scene.

OSTs are really great and help the storyline, so the songs are memorable. =D

Yeah, everything’s there. Lyrics + Translations for OST Part 1, Part 2, and also some from the special edition, I believe. 😀 You’re welcome.

I had posted the English translation above in Comment 12, so you didn’t have to look it up. ^^

Thanks, but I just wanted to clarify that I didn’t really make it similar to the Korean lyrics. I don’t usually read translations before I write my lyrics unless I specifically want them to match the original. =P The only thing that matched the original here was the sun and moon theme. I didn’t write this song based on the original lyrics. =)
